# Try the free beta > Aurora's TestFlight beta is open and free, and the public link is on this page: no email, no waitlist. The beta is how you get it today. It is distributed through TestFlight, Apple's own beta program, and it costs nothing: pricing comes later, and testers hear about it first. The link above is a public TestFlight link. Anyone who has it can join, so there is nothing to request and no one to wait for. We do not see your name or your Apple Account when you use it. ## What you need - **An iPhone.** Aurora's iPhone app is built for iOS 18 and later; that is the app's own minimum, taken from the project it ships from. - **Apple's TestFlight app.** The link opens it, and the App Store will install TestFlight first if it is not there yet. - **Room for the speech models,** and a connection to fetch them once. They are downloaded on first launch, not bundled with the build. We have not published a tested list of iPhone models, so we will not print one here. What we can say is on the home page: newer iPhones do the on-device work faster, older ones do it more slowly, and the Mac app is not released yet. ## Installing it 1. Open the link above on the iPhone you want to record with. TestFlight opens and offers the Aurora build. 2. Install it, the way TestFlight installs any beta. 3. Launch Aurora once with a connection. It downloads the speech models it needs — that is the one-time transfer, and it is the only thing about it that needs the network. 4. From then on, recording, transcription, speaker separation and summaries run on the device, offline. ## What works, and what does not Three states, and we keep them honest. If something below is wrong, it is a bug in this page and we want to hear about it. ### Available in beta - Recording, live transcript and speaker separation on iPhone. - Naming a speaker by hand, so the name stays with that voice. - Summaries, notes and Ask Aurora, generated on the device. - Offline after the one-time model download. - Calendar integration, and text export. ### Experimental in beta - Languages beyond English are uneven. - Meetings over two hours slow older devices. ### In development - The Mac app: not released yet. - Recognizing a named speaker automatically in a later meeting. - Searching across meetings. - Syncing conversations between devices. ## If you would rather have the link by email You can have it sent to you instead of copying it. That is the only reason we ask for an address, and it is optional in the strict sense: give none and nothing is posted anywhere, and nothing is stored on your device either. If you do give one, we send you this same link as a backup, and we send build notes only if you tick that box and then confirm by email. Nothing else, and you can ask us to delete the address at any time.
