# Does Aurora suit meetings in the room?

> Aurora is built for meetings in the room. Nothing joins your call; the iPhone records and produces the transcript and summary on the device. Where it fits, what it cannot do, and how to try it.

USE CASES · IN-PERSON MEETINGS

Aurora is designed for meetings you attend. It does not join the call. It listens through the iPhone and writes the transcript, speakers and summary on the device.

## Where it fits

- In-person 1:1s, client sessions, boardrooms and stand-ups.
- Rooms where you can place the phone close to the people speaking.
- Work that should not send audio to a cloud service to be transcribed.

## Setups that work well

- **Table placement.** Put the phone on the table, microphone side up, close to the people speaking.
- **Beside a laptop.** Near the laptop speaker it can capture both sides of a call, with worse audio than a direct feed.
- **No headphones for remote calls.** With headphones on, the phone hears only you. Read [why Aurora records from the room](https://auroraisyours.com/blog/no-meeting-bot).

## What it cannot do

- **Meetings you do not attend.** Only a call joiner can do that.
- **Calls you hear in headphones.** The phone hears only you; read [why Aurora records from the room](https://auroraisyours.com/blog/no-meeting-bot).
- **Anything but an iPhone.** The Mac app is in development.
