Is Aurora a good Fireflies alternative on iPhone?

It depends on what you record. Fireflies sends a notetaker into Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Google Meet by default, or can capture calls on Mac or Windows with its desktop app without adding a bot. It processes audio and notes in its cloud. Aurora transcribes and summarizes on the iPhone you hold, with no bot and no Aurora account. Choose Fireflies to capture calls and work as a team. Choose Aurora for in-person conversations whose recordings should not be uploaded. As of 31 October 2026 Aurora is iPhone only, in a private beta.

What is the real difference between them?

Fireflies is a cloud notetaker by design: that is how it can join calls you do not attend, keep a shared workspace and integrate with a CRM. Aurora gives those up to keep the speech pipeline on the phone. The right choice depends on your work and your policy.

When should I pick Fireflies?

  • You need notes from meetings you do not attend.
  • You want a web workspace, team folders or workflow integrations.
  • You need platforms other than iPhone, or something you can use at scale today.

When should I pick Aurora?

  • The conversations are in person and the recording should not be uploaded to a service for transcription.

What can Aurora not do that Fireflies can?

  • Calls you hear only in headphones. Aurora hears what the room hears through the phone's microphone, so a call playing in headphones reaches it only as your own voice. Why Aurora records from the room goes through each setup.
  • Anything but an iPhone. As of 31 October 2026 Aurora is iPhone only. The Mac app is in development and there is no release.
  • Team features. Aurora has no shared team workspaces, shared folders, CRM or workflow integrations.
  • Export formats. Plain text is the only format Aurora exports.

What has Aurora measured about itself?
